Enoshima bonnet is designed to have a snug fit around the head, framing the face.

Sizes: S (54-56), M (57-59), L (60-62)

Gauge: 17 sts x 24 rows = 10x10 cm

Materials:

  • Aran weight yarn: 190, (200), 210 m
  • 5mm circular needles (total 40 cm)
  • 4,5 mm crochet hook
  • measuring tape
  • tapestry needle
  • (optional: 2 buttons, 1 cm each)

The pattern includes instruction of a plain and a striped version.

The work begins by knitting two triangles, that connects to each other by the back loop cast on technique. After working a few rows flat the piece is connected in the round. The bonnet is finished off by decreases, worked either on DPN or using the travelling/magic loop method. Switching to a 4,5 mm crochet hook, a single crochet border is made around the whole bonnet.

Choose to finish the bonnet either by i-cords from the earflaps or by connecting buttons on the side of the head. Making it possible to flip the earflaps up, giving it an impression of a beanie.
