Entrelac Knitting-Skirt
This skirt is a below-the-knee A-line skirt made using the entrelac knitting technique.
「Entrelac knitting」is called 「Basket knitting」weaving in Japan. I think it`s because the weave looks like a basket.
I wanted to create a skirt using a fun and engaging knitting technique that never gets boring. You can knit it with colorful yarn for a vibrant look, or use a solid-colored yarn to make it an easy-to-wear skirt for everyday use.
Difficulty: Recommended for those with some experience in knitting.
Overview:
The skirt is knitted from the waist down using circular needles. The waistband and hem are knitted with a single strand of yarn, while the main body is knitted with two strands held together. The pattern consists of triangular or square blocks, with six blocks forming a complete round. The next set of six blocks is then knitted in the following round. The needle size is gradually increased towards the hem.
Sizes: 1 (2,3)
• Waist: 76 (80, 84) cm
• Hips: 84 (88, 92) cm
• Length (without waistband): 64.5 (67.5, 71) cm
Gauge: 18 stitches and 30 rows = 10 cm in Stockinette stitch (yarn held together)
Notes:
I usually create knitting charts in the Japanese style, but this is my first time writing a pattern in text form. There may be mistakes or unclear parts, so I would appreciate it if only those who are okay with that consider purchasing it. If you notice any errors, please let me know.
