The artist Max Escher inspired this pattern, simple stripes that progress from one main colour to another.

This design was my first ever design for my etsy shop back in 2005 and now available as a pattern that includes instructions for making both shortie and long sleeve extenders plus a neck cowl.

The sleeve extenders and neckwarmer are perfect for bridging seasonal changes, that little bit of extra warmth.

Pattern has three options - neckwarmer, shortie sleeve extenders and long sleeve extenders. The sleeve extenders are in 3 sizes, the neckwarmer is one size only.

Shortie Sleeve Extenders

April 2013 -
Just a quick update to let you know that I have updated the pattern as the stitch count was out on the handwarmers. I have also decreased the number of increase rows by 2 as the stitch count said 54 (58, 62) but the actual increases if done would be 62 (66, 70). If you feel you need wider lower arm section feel free just to add extra increases.

The update now reads..

Row 36 (increase row) K1, M1r, knit to 2 sts before marker, M1l, K1, repeat from 38 (42, 46)

Row 52 K1, M1r, knit to 2 sts before marker, M1l, K1, repeat from 42 (46, 50)

Row 66 K1, M1r, knit to 2 sts before marker, M1l, K1, repeat from 46 (50, 54)

Row 80 (only long sleeve extenders) K1, M1r, knit to 2 sts before marker, M1l, K1, repeat from 50 (54, 58)

Row 94 (only long sleeve extenders) K1, M1r, knit to 2 sts before marker, M1l, K1, repeat from 54 (58, 62)

There is a further amendment for the cast-off pattern with the inclusion of a knit row:

For both Row 76 on Shortie Sleeve Extenders and Row 116 on Long Sleeve Extenders K1, sl1 wyif, repeat from to end of row

Next row sl1 wyif, K1, repeat from to end of row

Next row K1, sl1 wyif, repeat from to end of row

Final row knit
