Inspired by the shapes on the beach left by the tide at Saunton Sands, this wrap can be worn as a single cowl, doubled up, as a hood or even pulled down as a shoulder warmer for the beach time walks, taking the edge off the coastal breeze.

This wrap is knit flat in one piece and then joined using 3-needle bind off. Its width can be changed by altering the number of cable repeats worked in the centre of the pattern and its length can be changed by altering the number of repeats of the full chart.
The cable is irregular, replicating the shapes made in the sand by the waves.
The wrap is edged with moss stitch with a neutral yarn used for the centre stitches.
A border of a double-wave cable encloses a centre panel of a single-wave cable repeated 5 times.
Any changes to size will result in different yarn requirements, please note that this size uses almost an entire skein with 20m (22 yards) left over.
