With Espiguette, I wanted a Mariannière to wear from the first fine days, one of those you slip into your bag for a few days by the sea and are glad to find again when you come home.

Knitted in Antigone by De Rerum Natura, it leaves plenty of room for the stripes that run across the body and the short sleeves. The V-neck opens up the top of the design, while buttons follow the raglan line on one side: a nod to sailor sweaters, which I wanted to keep even in this summer version.

Its straight cut and slightly elongated body give it a relaxed look. The ribbed bands frame the neckline, the sleeves and the hem of the body, accompanying the stripes without interrupting them any further.

Espiguette joins my Mariannière collection, where I keep exploring stripes and those details of the nautical wardrobe that I so love to translate into stitches.
