I was inspired by some of those gorgeous and fun knitted miter square blankets out there being made from mini-skeins and scraps. Instead of doing small squares, I decided to just make one big one and break it up with different colors and a little patterning.

The Expansion Baby Blanket starts out small and works its way big giving you the ability to make this blanket any size you want!

This pattern is very customizable. I made this pattern using 1000 yards of Caron Simply Soft, but I have given other yarn suggestions. You can use any yarn though! If you use thinner yarn, you will need to do more rows to achieve the same size as I made. If you use thicker yarn, you will need to do less rows. Feel free to change the “open” row frequency and color scheme to get an entirely different look!
