This scarf is double-knitted lace made simple. It’s all eyelets on both sides! Cable needles are not needed to accomplish the work. It is a two row pattern repeat. I like to wear it wrapped and crossed over one shoulder. In this position it reminds me of a breast cancer lapel ribbon. The pink and white version pictured was made for a friend who is a breast cancer survivor. It’s not light pink. I know. But my friend loves fuchsia. And Malabrigo totally rocked fuchsia in Caracol!

Please note that 50% of all proceeds will be donated to charity for abused and neglected children.

Suggested knowledge of double knitting and two color cast on.

The term “ribbon”:
I use this term in the pattern. Knowing that some folks practice double knitting with slight variations, I thought it best to clarify here. I was taught to think of the two strands of yarn held side-by-side as that of a two color spool of ribbon that you can find at any craft store. The entire spool will have one color near you until you turn it. The same is true with the two strands of yarn. When you move your yarns between front and back in double knitting they should generally maintain that side-by-side color as if you’re holding the ribbon in your hands. This is the same for starting a new row. Once you twist before beginning a row ensure the “ribbon” is in the same position to begin your double knitting. It doesn’t matter which color is near you. Only that it remains consistent.

You may want to twist the yarns at each edge twice.

The cast on row is a set up row and needs to be created as noted in the pattern. Row one doesn’t usually work if the cast on isn’t correct. If there seems to be a lot of questions on this, i’m happy to add in a tutorial of the technique I use to cast on, please let me know.

I hope you enjoy knitting this pattern, or perhaps purchasing it for someone you know that knits. I will also post updates on my website, knittedeyelash.com. If you have any questions please feel free to message me in Ravelry or through my email listed.
