This machine knit pattern is suitable for a beginner with some knowledge of slipped stitches and punchcard functionality. A single bed machine with punchcard capability or an electronic machine is ideal.

The scarf is knit in three sections. One standard punchcard is used to achieve the slipped stitch pattern. Gauge and sizing is not critical, however, be sure you have enough yarn if you stray from the recommended gauge.

A gauge swatch is recommended if you want a scarf that is truly square. The fabric tends to shorten across the rows when blocked.
