The inspiration for my Fuchsia designs came from the window box at the front of our house, which delighted our neighbours this summer.
I have used Jamieson and Smith 2ply Shetland yarn which gives a beautiful texture and comes in a fabulous range of colours. The pattern is knitted on 3.25 circular or double pointed needles and designed with simple peerie patterns (small Fair Isle patterns) of four stitch repeats. I have included two options for the crown of the hat, both include fuchsia motifs. The first is easier which may suit a beginner to Fair Isle knitting, the second is a little more challenging. This makes it a great pattern for beginners and those with more experience.
The Fair Isle Instructions are illustrated as charts in the colours shown in the photograph above and with photographs in alternative colour combinations.
Instructions are given for the head band or cowl using the same chart.
