PATTERN AND SIZING NOTES

  • This blanket is worked with the longest portion (the length) being the starting chain and the rows determine the width, so it essentially worked side to side rather than top to bottom.
  • The blanket has a built-in bobble border, there is no border added after the fact.
  • In the first row the turning chain does NOT count as a stitch, but with all other rows, the turning chain DOES count as a stitch
  • When working all rows but the 1st row (mentioned above), and since your turning CH counts as the first ST, always skip the 1st ST from your turning CH and crochet your last stitch in every row in to the turning CH/CH1 from the row below.
  • The bobble border in this blanket is created by alternating TC and SC and the SC after each TC pulls the TC down and pops it out – as such, try to keep the SC’s after your TC’s quite tight to make the TC’s pop out.
  • For the remainder of the SC’s across your row that are not in the bobble border portion, try to keep them quite loose.
  • Stitch count for each round will be indicated in parentheses ( ) at the end of the row
