The Falling Leaves Brioche Button Cowl is the next step after learning simple brioche. This cowl is knitted flat with brioche right and left decreases and one stitch increases. My favorite part of this pattern is the ruffle which adds a pop of contrast to this already gorgeous cowl. The ruffle pattern is offered in both a crochet and knit version.
Suggested yarn:
Dark color: Patons Grace in Night 45yds
Light color: Patons Kroy Socks in Blue Striped Ragg 60yds
Ruffle: Simplicity Hikoo in Hillcreek Gold 50yds

When picking yarn, any yarn weight will work, but I like to make the light color a lighter weight yarn than the dark color. The dark color in my sample project is a DK weight yarn and my light color is fingering weight.

Gauge: gauge isn’t important for this project, but my gauge is 24 stitches and 24 rows = 4”
