Gumdrop Brioche Cowl
This beautiful cowl is a joy to knit! The colors and pattern formed with the brioche stitch reminds me of gum drops. This cowl is the next step after learning basic brioche, but even a brioche newbie could tackle this pattern with my imbedded video tutorials on how to knit basic brioche and the increase and decreases necessary to create this cowl. This pattern includes instructions on how to create the ruffle border in both crochet and knit for your convenience. You can use whatever yarn weight you would like, but I like to use a heavier weight yarn for the dark color and lighter weight yarn for the light color. In my sample project I used worsted weight yarn for the dark color and DK for the light. I hope you love this pattern as much as I do!
Suggested yarn:
Dark color: Caron Simply Soft in Kelly Green 66yds Light color: Bernat Baby Sport in Tiny Tulips 75 yds Ruffle: Sugar n’ Cream in Hot Pink 20yds
Gauge: gauge isn’t important for this project, but my cowl’s gauge was 19 stitches and 24 rows= 4” in brioche stitch
