The Falling Leaves Sweater is inspired by changing seasons of autumn featuring a falling leaf and bobble lace reminiscent of autumnal woodlands, perfect for those cool autumn days. Worked top down in the round this Aran weight sweater works up quickly, the lace is simple but engaging and creates a rich texture.

Needles:

4mm & 5mm circular needles and/or DPNs

Needle sizes are recommended, choose a size needed to achieve gauge, the smaller needle should be 1mm smaller than the larger needle.

Gauge:

16 stiches & 23 rows per 4” / 10cm on larger needles in stockinette after blocking

Techniques:

German short rows to shape the back, I recommend the video tutorial by Mimi Kezer and the blog by Åsa Tricosa.

Choosing your size and fit:

The stated measurements are the actual final garment measurements. Choose a size with 2-4” / 5-10cm positive ease depending on the fit you want to achieve. To select a size, take your bust measurement and add your chosen amount of ease.
