I modified the Falling Leaves knit stitch pattern used in the Susan Shawl by Myrna A.I. Stahman to include an outline around each leaf.

As per the chart, for the left leaning and right leaning decreases, use k2tog or ssk, depending on how you knit, for instance:

I knit in the combination method (hold yarn in left hand), so after a purl row the left leg of the knit stitch is in front and the right leg is in back, k2tog leans left and ssk leans right. For the throwing method (hold yarn in right hand), after a purl row the right leg of the stitch is in front and the left leg is in back, k2tog leans right and ssk leans left.

This pattern closely matches the machine knit lace pattern of a cardigan that I recently bought at a yard sale. I over-dyed the garment, unraveled the sleeves to shorten them and with the extra yarn knit a pocket that I sewed onto the front of the cardigan.
