Fëanoria
by Karen Wong
- Fëanoria is worked in one piece from top down and the crescent shape is formed using increasing stitches and needle sizes.
- The project largely uses basic lace stitches such as k2tog, ssk, yarnover and central double decrease, with the even rows purled.
- The lace pattern and yarn color are drawn from the little known Fëanorian lamp in Tolkien lore -- the lamp emits a blue light coming from a crystal.
Should you be interested please pm me as the yarn can be made available for sale, with free shipping, online at http://www.etsy.com/shop/feywildyarn. - Given the pattern is very lacey and knitted with one skein of cobweb yarn (< 700m), the sample shawl, like Orenburg shawl, can be pulled through a wedding ring.
- Only charted instructions are provided.
- Knitters may use yarn and needle size(s) of their own preference and deemed appropriate to obtain desired gauge. While optional, beading is recommended to beautify the shawl.
- This is an original design. The instructions, photographs, designs, patterns and project are intended for buyer’s personal use to make the shawl for themselves, as a gift or for charity. Any other use, especially commercial use, is forbidden under law without written permission of the designer.
