This lacey cowl begins with a scalloped lower edge that graduates up into different lace patterns which are accented with beads as shown in the model. The top finishes off with a picot edge folded to the wrong side.

Materials needed for this project are 440 - 470 yds. fingering weight yarn, #8 Circular Knitting needle and 1 round marker.

The fingering weight yarn, knit on a size 8 needle, 58 rounds and 272 stitches, moves along nicely making for a quick and satisfying project. Cowl can be easily lengthened by repeating top lace pattern to desired length.

Of course, as always, beads are optional as well as the picot edge. The pattern, entirely charted and also entirely written round by round instructions, both included, show placement for beads and finishing with both types or edges.

All the stitches are fairly basic, yo, Ssk, K2tog, Skkp ( slip 1, Knit 2 one at a time, then pass the slip stitch over both the knit stitches )

Adding beads is a wonderful way to add a touch of elegance and Wow to a garment. Each bead is added to a specific stitch. There are several ways to accomplish this, such as a small crochet hook. I have created a small tool that holds beads, grabs the stitch, and then allows you to slide the bead down onto the stitch. You can purchase this tool on my Etsy website suelillycreations for $3.50 plus .49 for postage within the US, $2.50 internationally.

Any questions, please feel free to e-mail. Hope you enjoy your new project.
