One more pattern inspired by Sir Tolkien’s work, Fellowship Beanie comes in 3 sizes, 6 months – 24 months old, toddler/child and adult.
The pattern is worked in 3 parts:
Part I: The brim is worked in rows in MC. The number of stitches is the brim height, and the number of rows is the brim size. The short ends are crocheted together to form a ring. Head circumference can be adjusted by adding multiple of 8 rows in bl only.
Part II: This part features overlay mosaic pattern in MC & CC with pattern repeat of 8 sts.
Part III: The reduction part is worked mainly in MC with decrease stitches.

FINISHED HEAD CIRCUMFERANCE:
1 (2, 3): 17 (19, 22)”/43.18 (48.26, 55.88) cm

FINISHED HAT HEIGHT (Excluding Brim):
1 (2, 3): 6.5 (7.5, 8.5)” / 16.51 (19.05, 21.59) cm

YARN: Any DK weight yarn in preferably wool blend
3 (3, 4) skein(s) ea (1.7 oz/109 yds, 50 g/100 m)
MC: 2 skeins
CC: 1 (1, 2) skein.

HOOKS:
US size G-6 (4 mm) hook or size needed to obtain gauge for body part.
US size E-4 (3.5 mm) hook or size needed to obtain gauge for brim.
