This pattern starts from the center of the bowl and you work your way out. Using this method, it allows me to use almost the whole skein of yarn, with very little leftover.

The first part of the pattern is the increasing from the center to the outside edge to make the bottom of the bowl. The 2nd part of the pattern is making the sides of the bowl.

I started on double pointed needles, and about halfway through switched to circular needles to accommodate the large amount of stitches.

My samples were made out of Universal Yarn Deluxy Chunky that I handpainted with the variegated colors. You can use any yarn that you like that is 100% wool. My preference is a bulkier yarn, because it makes your bowl thicker and stronger, which will then allow it to be more useful for holding items.
