This is a pattern for a machine knit felted cat CUBE! It will measure 15”w x 15”h x 15”d when finished and is supported by a PVC pipe frame.

The pattern is written for a Brother Chunky (KH260) Knitting machine, but any chunky (9mm) knitting machine can be used. No ribber necessary.

The pattern has all the instructions to take you from knitting your swatch to placing kitty in his little private felted cat cube. Diagrams and photos and are included showing pattern pieces with dimensions and construction along with full written instructions.

You will need 1-1/2 to 2 lbs. of worsted weight wool for knitting and felting the cat cube, but if you would rather use an acrylic worsted weight yarn and just make a knitted cube (not felted the knitting) you can do that as well. Gauge is approximately 16-20 sts = 4”, but you will make a swatch to obtain your gauge and the pattern will be customized for your gauge.

Do you have some yarn that is just TOO scratchy or ugly for a sweater? This is a great stash buster to get rid of that cone of yarn and kitty will love you forever!

You will also need a sewing machine (and thread) that can do a stretch stitch on for assembly, 42” of Velcro, 13 feet of 1/2” PVC pipe (and a saw or PVC cutters to cut it in the pieces you need), 8 1/2” PVC 3 way elbows, a small amount of waste yarn and embroidery floss if you want to embroider a design on your cube.

This felted cat cube turns out super cozy and is a good size so kitty isn’t cramped! Perfect for mom and kittens. Make more than one and stack them! Place it outside for feral cats. Add a heating pad,kitty’s name or make some windows. Customize it just how you want it!

The felted cat cube cover is completely removable and washable and attached with Velcro to the cube. The cube is fully enclosed once attached except for the portal doorway.
