The little umbrella shapes can be found in old stitch dictionaries under the name ‘parasol stitch’ and here they are incorporated into a hat. You can knit this hat in any 4 ply yarn but a smoother yarn, or yarn with silk content, will show off the texture of the pattern more effectively.
