Overview
Reminiscent of fern leaves, this hat is worked bottom up with a striped rib that is folded up to create a double brim and then is knit in a simple cable repeat. The hat is finished with charted (and written) decreases.

yardage is an estimate… for the medium size, I used a total of 238 yards/219 meters
Needles:
US 3 3.25 mm, smaller rib needle, 16 inch circulars
US 4 3.5 mm, gauge needle 16 inch circulars and preferred method for knitting on small circumferences (I used 32 inch/81.2 cm needles for magic loop)
Gauge:
This is a fingering or sport weight project
13 sts by 18 sts in 2 inches with gauge needles, unblocked, in stockinette
Size:
Sample size is worn for 21.5 inch/54.6cm head circumference
