FERNLYS (‘fern’ from German: ‘distant’, ‘lys’ from Norwegian: ‘light’) is a circular yoke sweater with a loose fit, knitted from the top down in the round. It features a minimalist stranded-colourwork pattern and textured slipstitch detail. First the neck is cast on and the ribbing is finished with an Estonian braid. Then increases are worked following the chart. After the yoke is done and before separating the sleeves, the back of the sweater is shaped with short rows. Then the sleeves and the body are separated and worked in stockinette stitch. The (half)twisted rib on the cuffs and hem are finished with a simple bind-off in pattern.

FERNLYS is designed for the unspun Nutiden yarn by Höner och Eir - knit with a single strand for a light, airy garment perfect for those mild summer nights or alternatively held double for a warmer garment for the colder autumn days.

For an oversized fit, choose a size 15-25 cm larger than your
actual chest circumference, for a relaxed fit - 10-15 cm larger.
For reference: the sample in the photos is insize 3 with 19 cm
positive ease.
