These cute baubles are quick to work and are great for using up scraps of chunky yarn. Make them in solid colours for bold flashes of bright colour or customise the middle section with your own pattern using the blank chart provided. Other decoration suggestions for the centre band are included in the pattern.

Skills / Techniques Used: Knitting in the round on double pointed needles, increases, decreases, colourwork (optional)

Measurements: The finished size of your bauble will be 2.5” / 6.5cm high and wide with a 7” / 18.5cm circumference.

Materials

For each bauble you will need:

• Yarn A - 5g / 0.2oz, 7.5yd / 7m of chunky yarn for the main colour. The yarns used in the pattern picture are Paintbox Yarns Simply Chunky, 100% Acrylic, 100g / 3.5oz, 149yd / 136m per ball, in Kingfisher Blue and Rose Red
• Yarn B – Up to 3g / 0.1oz, 4.5yd / 4m of chunky yarn in a contrast colour for the patterning. The yarn used in the pattern picture is Paintbox Yarns Simply Chunky, 100% Acrylic, 100g / 3.5oz, 149yd / 136m per ball, in Paper White
• A set of 4-5 x US size 6 / 4mm double pointed needles
• A 50mm polystyrene ball or handful toy stuffing
• A crochet hook to make a hanging loop (optional)
• A stitch marker
• A tapestry needle
