The stocking leg has an intarsia Christmas tree on it. There are holly garlands above and below, which could be done either stranded or with intarsia. The heel and toe are knitted in a contrasting colour.

The tree’s garland is couched in place, and French knots are used for the baubles.

Requires about 200 yds of cream (background colour), smaller amounts of red and green for the heel/toe and tree, oddments of brown (trunk) and blue (pot), glittery yarn for the tree’s garland, and an assortment of brightly coloured yarns for the baubles.
