Yarn Used for sample/s:
Scheepjes Catona: 100% Mercerised Cotton, 50g/1.75oz; 125m/136yds Fine #2 sport weight (4-5 ply) yarn, 4 x 50g skeins
Catona is available in 109 colours, and is a fantastic yarn to use for this pattern, it’s one of my all-time favourite cottons.

Similar 100% cotton in a Fine #2 Sport yarn, or a Light #3 DK yarn would also work quite well with this pattern. Adjust your hook size accordingly. Buy an extra ball of yarn if you’re not sure!

3.5mm for Romanian Cord portion only

Further gauge information: At the end of first pattern repeat (end of Diamonds Row 5) work is 5cm (2in) wide, blocked.

Meterage/ Yardage: 425m (465yds) Finished bag weighs 170g in suggested yarn.

Finished measurements:
31 x 37 whole diamonds
Side opening measures 27cm (10 1/2in)
Top opening of bag measure: 15cm wide (6in)
Handles measure 56- 60cm (23 1/2in) long - can easily vary the length
Bag opening is 84cm (33in) around.
