This JAYGO (Join As You Go) hexagon motif project is very versatile.

You may choose to make the table runner as shown in the samples. You might also like to wear this project instead of using it on the table. Simply add on motifs to create extra length as desired. It would make a warm and luxurious scarf made with merino yarn.
You could also make this project into a larger rectangular wrap or a bed runner. Or keep going and make a blanket or throw! Be creative and make this one to suit your individual needs.

There are many different yarns suited to this motif, ranging from 100% cotton to 100% merino, cotton/bamboo blends, cotton/merino blends and acrylic. They would all work with the appropriate hook size. Choose your favourite yarn, and try a single motif. They’re so much fun!

MATERIALS
Yarn Colours & yardage used for Table Runner samples:

Moya Shimmer: Carina, Celestial, Pluto & Pandora (one ball of each - there will be some left over. A total of 3 balls (320m/350yds is needed if using one colour only.)

Bellissimo 100% Merino 4: 423 Pale Pink x 2 balls (320m/ 350yds)

Hook sizes: 4.5mm (US G/7) for Sport (#2) weight/ 5 ply yarn.
4mm (US 6) for Fingering (#1) weight/ 4 ply yarn.

Notions:
Scissors

GAUGE:
Using 4.5mm hook with Moya Shimmer: one blocked hexagon motif = 13 x 13cm (5.1 x 5.1in), measuring from point to point.

OR: Using 4mm hook with Bellissimo Merino 4ply: one blocked hexagon motif = 10 x 10cm (4 x 4in), measuring from point to point.

Finished measurements: Table Runner - can easily be made wider or longer to suit your needs. Moya Shimmer: 34cm (13.4in) wide x 85cm (33.5in) long.
Bellissimo 4: 30cm (11.8in) wide x 80cm (31.5in) long.
