The main needle is the size 6, or size to obtain gauge. I recommend binding off with a needle 2 sizes larger, hence the size 8 needle. Of course, use a looser bind off that works for you.

I love the random color changes in this yarn, giving these mittens a unique color design. The pattern has a long wrist length with a bit of widening at the beginning of the hand shaping for a better fit.
This pattern can easily be altered for length of mitten by omitting a ‘roll’ and not working one or more of the pattern repeats at the wrist or fingertip. Be sure to wash, reshape and air dry as this yarn will bloom nicely if you do.

I have sometimes, depending on how the colors of yarn are coming off the ball, will break a long stretch of color off and continue on with a new color sequence from the same ball.
Most hands fall into the size medium best, so if you don’t have quite small hands or large hands try medium first. Especially true if you are gifting.
I tend to like a lot of length above my thumb, so I will make the medium with 1 more purl repeat above the thumb for me.
