Fíniúin means vine. Vine like cables encircle this hat.

This hat is worked in the round from the bottom up. The cables in the main colour grow from the two by two rib and intertwine around the hat. The contrast colour combines with the main colour in a garter stitch background. The hat appears quite complicated but in fact only one colour is worked per round as the cable stitches are slipped on contrast colour rows.

This hat was designed using two 50g skeins of hand dyed Árran yarn from An Irish Knit Odyssey.
