This shawl is asymmetric triangular shape knit from one point, increasing until the desired size is achieved. There is a lacey border and a smaller lace pattern in the body.

The shawl is finished with a knit-on border with the same lace pattern as the border of the body of the shawl.

The size is adjustable. The body is knit as long as desired, reserving 20% of the total yarn for the final border.

It can be worn with the diagonal edge as the top edge of the shawl.

You can make it in either a laceweight or a light fingering weight yarn. It is perfect for handspun or a special skein of luxury yarn, when you want to use the entire skein without running short.

The Fire Island Hosta is known for its bright gold-green foliage and its contrasting maroon-red petioles or stems. The leaves turn green by late summer, but the highly contrasting spring foliage is spectacular. It is a showy hosta in our garden, especially in the spring.

Only charts are provided in this design.

It is available either singly or as a part of The Hosta Garden e-book.
