Firetruck slipover
Firetruck slipover is a fun project for the advanced knitter who likes challenges!
The slipover is knitted in one piece, sewn together along the sides and finally rib edge is knitted along armholes and neckline.
“Fire truck slipover” is knitted using intarsia technique.
Smaller details of the pattern are embroidered on top of the knitting, using duplicate stitches.
The boy in picture is almost 4 years old and wearing size 3-4.
Sizes: 2-3 (3-4) 4-5 years.
Length: 35 (36.5) 38 cm (measured from shoulder).
Chest circumference: 63 (66) 68.5 cm.
Needles: Cable needle size 3 (80 cm). Needle for embroidery with rounded tip.
Tension: Tension 28 and 36 rows to 10cm measured over stockinette stitching using needles size 3.
Yarn: Arwetta Classic (212 m 50g) from Filcolana: blue 42 (45) 50g, green 17 (18) 20g green, red 12g, white 12g, orange 5g, black 4g.
To create light orange and skin color, yarn is pulled apart and twisted together. Colors used in picture: Arwetta 340 - blue , 243 - green, 218 - red, 101 - white, 365 - orange), 102 - black.
