This is a written crochet pattern for the “Fishy Fidgets”, a bundle of three sea-themed fidgets: a fish marble mesh, a life ring marble fidget and a jellyfish with pullable tentacles. These sea-themed fidget toys are great for stimming with and perfect for keeping your hands busy. (If you would like to see an example of them being used there is a video on my instagram account, and/or on the Etsy listing). They are all pocket-sized and silent, so are easy to bring on the go with you or use subtly.

The pattern is available in both US and UK terms. The PDF file is 12 pages long with detailed instructions and lots of photos. In addition to Ravelry, this pattern is also available on my Etsy store to purchase.

This pattern is suitable for crocheters that are already familiar with amigurumi and basic crochet stitches/techniques (e.g ch, sc, hdc, dc, tr, inc, dec, colour changing, working through multiple layers etc). The fish is worked in continuous rounds. The life ring and jellyfish are worked in joined rounds.

Materials & Tools Required:

Yarn:
• For the Fish Marble Mesh: Two different colours of DK weight yarn (or similar to meet required gauge).
• For the Life Ring Marble Fidget: Two different colours of DK weight yarn (or similar to meet required gauge).
• For the Jellyfish with Pullable Tentacles: Two similar colours/shades of yarn. DK weight yarn is recommended, however in theory you should be able to use any yarn weight (i.e. gauge doesn’t matter).

A crochet Hook in a size based on your yarn’s weight (and then for the fish and life ring, check your gauge against the gauge swatch advice). I used 3mm.

A small amount of black yarn/thread for embroidering eyes and mouth.
Two small marbles (approx. 1.5cm in diameter), one for the fish, one for the life ring. Please note that marbles are a choking hazard (particularly to young children).
Safety eyes (optional)
Scissors
Tapestry/finishing needle
Stitch marker (recommended)

Full gauge details (& swatch info) are included in the pattern for the fish and the life ring. Using a 3mm hook and DK weight yarn my finished:
• Fish Marble Mesh measured approx. 9cm long (head to tail) and 2.8cm wide (at middle of body)
• Life Ring Marble Fidget measured approx. 6.5cm (outer) diameter
• Jellyfish with Pullable Tentacles measured approx. 7.5cm wide at the base of the semi-circle and 9cm long (from top of head to bottom of tentacles, when tentacles are evenly distributed).
