Keep your hands warm and cozy, while also being able to do all the things!
The Flapjack Mitts are a convertible mitten that provide full coverage, but also are designed with flaps on the fingers and thumb that allow you use of your hands while wearing them!

Hold your coffee with ease, send a text, or take a picture, all without having to remove your mittens!

This pattern includes written as well as photo and video instructions to help you construct your mitten. You can make a mitten using a single color, or a scrappy version if you choose!

These mittens will get a lot of wear starting in the Fall and continuing through the Spring months!

Materials:
Super Bulky Yarn-Malabrigo Rasta (approx. 90 yds), Light Super Bulky Yarn- Madeline Tosh ASAP (appox. 85 yds). These are what I used for the pattern, but any yarn in the suggested weight and yardage will work.
Make sure to weigh your skeins. I was able to complete multiple pairs of mittens with just one skein per pair, but some of my testers had to dig into a second skein. This may be based on your knitting style or the type of yarn you choose.
DPNs US size 10.5/ 6.5mm and US size 11/ 8mm for super bulky, and 10/ 6mm and 10.5/ 6.5mm for Light Super Bulky and Bulky. (Circular needles using the magic loop method can also be used if that’s what you prefer.)
Tapestry needle, Measuring tape, Scissors
Two 8” pieces of scrap yarn (of different color) for gusset/thumb and mitten flap This will be removed as indicated in pattern.
