One of my favourite things about being a knitter is being able to create beautiful pieces for family and friends. I once was requested to knit up a very simple, pixie-style bonnet with long ties for an old friend’s new baby. Named for that sweet girl, FLO was straightforward to create. However, being the pedant that I am, I had to try several different techniques to get the fit at the nape of the neck just right. The combination of super soft merino, squishy garter stitch, and my neckline technique makes FLO your go-to baby cap for every occasion.

FLO is worked flat from front to back, then joined at the back using the three-needle bind off technique. An applied i-cord creates stretchy ties and a neat finish at the neckline. The ties are then knotted at the ends for a sweet little detail.
