(730) 815 (895, 1015, 1135) mt / (796) 890 (978, 1106, 1238) yds of Sport / 2: Fine yarn (12 wpi)

Suggested yarn:
(210) 235 (260, 290, 330) g / (7.4) 8.3 (9.2, 10.2, 11.6) oz of Mistral by Manifattura Sesia (50 g = 165 m / 180 yds), or a similar yarn that meets gauge.

Needles and notions:
3 mm (US 2.5) needles for ribbing
3.5 mm (US 4) needles for body
1 tapestry needle

Gauge:
4” x 4’’ - 10 x 10 cm in Stockinette Stitch with 3.5 mm (US 4) needles: 28 stitches x 34 rows.

Knitting stitches used:
Stockinette Stitch
1 x 1 Rib Stitch
Decreases:
ssk (slip, slip, knit): slip two stitches knitwise, one at a time, onto the right needle. Insert the left needle into the front loops of both slipped stitches and knit them together.
k2tog (knit 2 stitches together): work two stitches together as one knit stitch, decreasing by 1 stitch.

OVERVIEW

  • Work the Back and Front separately.
  • Sew the left shoulder seam, then pick up and knit stitches around the entire neckline to work the neckband.
  • Sew the right shoulder seam.
  • Pick up and knit stitches around the armholes to work the armhole bands.
  • Finally, sew the side seams.
