“I must have flowers always, always.”--Claude Monet

Claude Monet, French Impressionist artist, cherished his beautiful gardens and so many of his paintings depicted his flower gardens and ponds.

I also have a strong love of flowers, particularly Texas native wild flowers, and many of my crochet designs include stitches that resemble flowers in one way or the other.

The Flowers Always scarf is crescent shaped and uses two colors of yarn, a darker color yarn for the body of the scarf and a lighter color yarn for border. The body of the shawl, crocheted from side to side with the darker colored yarn, starts with a few stitches and ends with a few stitches.

The stitch pattern is an easy to memorize six-row repeat, and the border consists of four rows crocheted on the bottom edge from end to end. The fourth row of the border is an interesting stitch pattern that resembles a flower.

This scarf has ample width making it very easy to wear and wrap.

I suggest you use a darker tonal colored yarn for the body of the scarf and a coordinating lighter colored speckled or splatter-dyed yarn for the border.
