Flowers Forever Coaster
Hi! Layla Condit here. I hope you like this pattern. It was kind of hard for me to write, so I hope its clear enough for you and there are no mistakes. However, if there are, leave me a message and I will try to fix it.
This pattern was born from a big mistake. I was trying to make a hat, and I didn’t chain enough or follow the directions correctly, so when I finished, I ended up will a giant lump and a flower on the side. I decided that it would make a great coaster pattern, so I cleaned it up a little, edited this and that, and boom, a big mistake turned into a great idea.
I would say this pattern is for Advanced Beginners or Intermediate crocheters. I only say this because there might be mistakes in the pattern and the chaining and single crocheting might be kind of hard. What do I know though; I could be wrong!
You can really use any yarn or hook you want, I even made one with chunky yarn, though it didn’t turn out so well because it was hard to see the flower design. I recommend using dk yarn, worsted weight yarn, or aran yarn. Cotton, acrylic, wool, it doesn’t really matter. Like I was saying in my Skipping Stones Dishcloth pattern, you can also do any border you like. I did a double crochet border, but I didn’t really like it. The picot border is cute, and I also did a simple slip stitch one. So really, anything works!
Stitches used are double crochet, chains, and single crochet. I included an abbreviation chart too. I hope this helps with the pattern and doesn’t make it too hard to read. I realized I forgot to add an abbreviation chart on some of my other patterns, so I’ll have to remember to add those on my patterns. Though hopefully you know the common abbreviations and you don’t need it! One more thing: you will need to block this pattern!! Its fine if you don’t but it just looks better. I did not block for the photos and as you can see they turned out fine, but it’s whatever you want.
Anyway, I hope you like this pattern and it isn’t too hard to read or follow. Check out some of my other patterns too while you’re at it. Happy crocheting!
P.S. Feel free to leave a comment and/or post a picture of your finished project. Thanks!
