Due to my cognitive disabilities, I am unable to do e.g. size gradings and coordinate a large test. For this reason, this pattern comes in one size only and in English only. However I am doing my very best to offer a well written pattern and include size modification tips.

I have been holding back my designs due to the above, but adventurous knitters have encouraged me to publish my patterns. They tell me, they are able to make their own modifications, and I want to accommodate them with my patterns.

Pay what you wish
I offer my patterns at a variable price structure. I’d like the acknowledgement of the work behind a design, but I also acknowledge that I don’t offer an extensive instruction. So I will let you decide what the right price is for you. Feel free to use the coupons below at check-out.

YouTube video: info about the Vest and Pattern

The Flower Leaves Vest is designed to be layered on top of a sweater. Use it in the spring or fall. It could also be layered on top of a shirt or dress. The flower leaves sleeves are kept in place by the stiffness of the fabric.

The Flower Leaves Vest is knitted top down, starting with the collar. The Vest has a raised neckline using short rows. The sleeves are formed using a high number of increases and then closed again using a high number of decreases. When separating for the body, the front and back pieces are knitted flat in 2 color brioche. The front and back pieces are knitted together in the sides with a seed stitch panel. Because of the small gauge (small amount of stitches) it is a fairly quick project.

I encourage you to be playful using your stash yarn and leftovers. Marling different colors and using Magic balls gives an interesting fabric. I hope you will enjoy it.

Size/measurements
This pattern design comes in one size only. Please read the disclaimer on the Ravelry pattern page.

However the size is easy to modify on the go, as there aren’t any “no turning back” points. You can always drop or add an increase. You can always drop the side panels or knit them wider. You can always knit the armholes smaller or bigger. And as it is knit top-down you can try it on as you knit it. I hope you will find this way of knitting a “one size” pattern liberating.
To help you do this, the pattern includes several tips on how to make size modifications.

Finished measurements on the pale rose sample:
The pale rose sample is knitted rather large, as it is meant to be worn layered on top of another sweater. If layered, it is approximately a size M/L. If not layered it is approximately a size L/XL.
Bust circumference: 126 cm / 49½“
Sleeve length measured at the bind off edge: 40 cm / 15¾”. Notice that sleeve circumference is much larger because the sleeves are knitted together further down with the side panel.
Neck width: 33 cm / 13” measured across the back neck of the collar. Notice that the first part of the vest is worked with short rows for the neck shaping. The total collar circumference is 75 cm / 29½“.
The total length: 60 cm / 23½” measured on the back from the beginning of the collar to the bottom of the edge. The length is customizable.
Seed stitch part on the back: 20 cm / 8” measured from the beginning of the seed stitch pattern to the brioche section.
Seed stitch side panel: 3 cm / 1¼“.

Finished measurements on the scrappy sample:
The scrappy sample is knitted with a larger gauge for a smaller size.
Bust circumference: 105 cm / 41¼“
Sleeve length measured at the bindoff edge: 35 cm / 13¾”. Notice that sleeve circumference is much larger because the sleeves are knitted together further down with a side panel.
Neck width: 28 cm / 11” measured across the back neck of the collar. Notice that the first part of the vest is worked with short rows for the neck shaping. The total collar circumference is 62 cm / 24½“.
The total length: 50 cm / 19¾” measured on the back from the beginning of the collar to the bottom of the edge. The length is customizable.
Seed stitch part on the back: 17½ cm / 7” measured from the beginning of the seed stitch pattern to the brioche section.
Seed stitch side panel: 2½ cm / 1”.

Yarn
You can use any wool yarn. I will encourage you to have fun mixing yarns together and use yarn from your stash. Choose yarns that knit together will give you the right gauge. But also be aware that the fabric needs to be quite thick and stiff, as this will hold up the flower leaves sleeves. You don’t want them to collapse.
If you use superwashed yarns, I recommend knitting it together with more sticky yarns, for example mohair or brushed alpaca. It will glue the yarns together.
For the brioche section, either the Main Color (MC) or Contrast Color (CC) needs to be sticky yarn, for example untreated wool, mohair or brushed alpaca.
Yarns you can choose are for example 2 x worsted held together. Add some extra mohair or fingering weight yarn to get the right fabric and gauge.
