FLOWERSTONE SOCKS

This first instalment in the Simply Stranded Summer Sock Club is an ode to those tiny magical
blossoms that appear in the crevices of stone walls all over Ireland, in the early weeks of Summer.

Delicate yet hardy, simple yet beautiful, they inhale the morning dew and exhale whispered hints
 of Summer’s luscious exuberance.

Following an easy 4-stitch chart repeat, you can knit these socks in two colours for a more abstract
motif, or in three colours for a surprisingly realistic representation of the blossoms. A lovely, meditative project to ease you into the practice of all-over stranded colourwork.

Like all patterns in the Simply Stranded Summer Sock Club, the Flowerstone Socks feature the following:

. instructions for knitting the socks cuff down and toe-up

. options for two types of heel construction:
peasant heel and short row heel

. colourwork charts based on a simple 4-stitch repeat that is top-down reversible, and can be worked either for the entire sock or just for the leg

. an extensive appendix with adjustment and modification options

. a short narrative about the inspiration behind the pattern
