WELCOME TO THE FLUTTERBY CAL 2022!

I was inspired by the butterfly due to recent events in my own life.
I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis back in 2009, and as it began to get worse the last couple of years, I was offered a chance to undergo a very aggressive form of treatment, consisting of chemo to kill off my immune system, and then a stem cell transplant to help my body build a new one.
This all took place in March 2020, and after months of getting back on my feet, I started noticing all the positive changes.
One of the biggest changes was that I finally had the mental endurance to start writing and publishing my patterns.
So the last 2 years, I have pretty much felt like a butterfly, crawling out of the cocoon and spreading its wings.
I could not have found a better motif for my first CAL, and I hope you enjoy it.

TECHNIQUE:
This blanket is made using the overlay mosaic crochet technique. If you haven’t tried it before, it might look daunting, but I promise you it is easier than it looks. It is basically just sc’s and cleverly placed dc’s.
The pattern consists of charts with the first 10 rows written out as well. In the tutorial file I will teach you how ro read the charts - it is not hard, and a lot easier with a pattern this big than a written pattern.

If you want a lighter/bigger/cheaper version of this blanket, I would recommend using Scheepjes Color Crafter or a similar yarn.
You can however use whatever yarn you like. The size will vary if you use thinner or thicker yarn, but the proportions will stay the same. The estimated yarn amount for Color Crafter is in the pattern file.

VELKOMMEN TIL FLUTTERBY CAL 2022!

Sommerfuglen er inspiret af nylige omstændigheder i mit eget liv. Jeg blev i 2009 diagnosticeret med multipel sclerose, og da det begyndte at gå lidt ned af bakke gennem de sidste år, blev jeg tilbudt at deltage i en aggressiv og ny behandling, for at holde sygdommen i skak. Denne behandling bestod af kemo for at slå mit immun forsvar ihjel, og en stamcelle transplantation for at give min krop et nyt og sundt immunforsvar.
Jeg gik igennem denne bahandling i Marts 2020, og efter flere måneder hvor jeg skulle komme på benene igen, begyndte jeg at mærke de positive forbedringer. En af de største forandringer var, at jeg pludselig havde det mentale overskud til at skrive mine opskrifter ned og begynde at udgive dem.
Så de sidste 2 år har jeg selv følt mig som lidt af en sommerfugl, der langsomt er kravlet ud af puppen og har spredt sine vinger. Sommerfuglen var derfor det perfekte motiv til min første CAL, og jeg håber i tager godt imod den.

TEKNIK:
Teknikken der er brugt i dette tæppe hedder Overlay mosaic crochet (Overlay mosaik hækling). Hvis du ikke har prøvet denne teknik før kan det godt se svært og overvældende ud, men teknikken består faktisk kun af fastmasker og klogt placerede stangmasker. Jeg lover dig, det er nemmere, end det ser ud.
Opskriften består af mønster/chart, med de første 10 rækker skrevet ned også. I min introduktions fil lærer jeg dig hvordan du følger et mønster/chart. Det er slet ikke svært, og meget nemmere end at følge en skreven opskrift med så stort et mønster.

Ca 160 x 150 cm. Dette kan variere lidt i forhold til din hæklefasthed.
