In Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander book, A Breath of Snow and Ashes, Jamie has to navigate conflicting duties to the crown and to the liberty of his new country. This fully reversible cowl represents this conflict and is designed in Mosaic (also called Brioche) crochet in two colors, one representing the crown (red) and the other representing the rebellion for liberty (blue). Mosaic crochet works each row twice, once in each color to create an interwoven effect. The pattern provides the information to work this technique in written instructions and charts. Designed for sock/fingering weight yarn, this piece is made with two skeins of Honey Girl Farms Deluxe Sock (100g/400m/437yds), as shown in colors Flowers & Candy and Nesta.
