I have always adored the little forget-me-not flowers with their tiny dainty five petals and was often found sitting and admiring them as a little girl. These little blue flowers are perennials grown all over the world and symbolize true love, enduring memory, and faithfulness. There are many legends surrounding the origins of the forget-me-not, and its name. One legend says that when the creator had finished giving out the colours to all the flowers, he heard a tiny whisper, “forget-me-not!” All he had left was a tiny bit of blue, which the little flower was delighted to wear.

Inspired by these happy flowers that appear in the Spring, these fingerless mitts are a quick and fun knit and include colourwork knitting and a pretty picot edge and are perfect for wearing on a chilly Spring morning. These mitts are made in collaboration with Pamir Fine Fibers in Switzerland and their gorgeous fingering weight cashmere yarn.

Kits for this pattern with the original yarn can be purchased from Pamir Fine Fibers, info@pamirtrading.com. www.pamirtrading.com.
