Fountain
Fountain is a top-down, seamless pullover with contrasting shoulder triangles and an unusual construction. Ridge pattern decorates the neckline, the hem of the body and the cuffs. This 3-dimensional pattern add interest to this otherwise very simple pullover. Body is shaped with some increases to create a slightly A-line bottom.
The work starts with the shoulder triangles then the stitches of the front are cast on and the front and the triangles are joined together. The front is worked back and forth in rows to the underarms, the neckline is shaped with short rows. After the completion of the front the stitches of the back are cast on and after it is joined together with the shoulder triangles it is worked back and forth in rows to the underarms. Then the front and the back are joined together and the body is worked in one piece to the hem.
The sleeve caps are shaped with short rows as well as decreases. After the sleeve caps are complete the sleeves are worked in the round from the underarm to the cuff.
