A new smooth fur yarn came out recently and it feels like silky, wispy fur. It is really slippery, so leave long tails to weave in securely. I used a Size 13, 24” Circular Needle.
Two different yarns are used: Lion Brand Romance is a smooth fur yarn and you will need two balls; Red Heart Boutique Midnight is a bulky yarn with metallic silver highlights and you only need one skein. I have also done these in many types of fur yarns, so you can experiment. This should be knit very loosely. When laying flat on a table, the finished piece will measure 25” (50” circumference) and 6” wide. When hanging around your neck, it will stretch to about 56” around and 4” wide. It is reversible, so you can wear it as a single or double loop around your neck. The blue/gray and copper cowls were knit using the Romance/Midnight yarns; the magenta/blue cowl was knit with one strand of Premier Yarns Lash Lux and another long, royal blue, sparkly component eyelash (unfortunately, discontinued now from Ironstone Yarns) held together.
