The FrankenScrap Sampler Blanket is both a great way to try out new crochet stitches and the ultimate yarn stash buster.

Made up of 51 individual pieces, each made with a different crochet stitch, this quilt-like blanket is the perfect way to remove the colour coordination pressure of other large projects.

It’s called the FrankenScrap because it’s also an ugly blanket - a blanket made with lots of different colours of yarn. There’s no colour plan here. Just grab a ball of yarn from your stash that’s the right weight and start crocheting.

The FrankenScrap was originally a crochet along that was released in 2024 over 49 weeks. The pattern is now available in full both for free over on my blog here and the ad free pattern is available to buy here on Ravelry.

Each piece of the pattern comes with the written instructions that also have pictures to guide you through each step and a video that you can crochet along with.

There are a variety of stitch difficulties included in the pattern, but the instructions have been made to be as easy as possible to follow. So if you are looking for a pattern that will stretch your skills, then the FrankenScrap will do just that.

To make the FrankenScrap you will need:

• 4500 meters of DK or light worsted weight yarn
• 4mm hook
• Needle for weaving in ends

The pattern is written in US terms and the finished size fits a double bed.
