Frau Vaw Cowl is a two color brioche and garter stitch cowl.

The two color Brioche pattern with garter edges is first worked from the V point flat, and then more stitches are added to form the back of the neck and joined for working in the round.
Therefore, this cowl should be work by those who have mastered two color brioche- both flat and in the round.
The outcome is a bandana- shaped cowl, with a flap which can be opened to protect your cheeks and nose outdoors, and folded for a sophisticated look that shows the magnificence of the other side of the two color brioche.

Final measurements:
Circumference: 47 cm/ 18.5’’
Back of the neck height- 12.5 cm/ 5’’
Front height when unfolded: 35 cm/ 13.5’’
Front height when folded: 27 cm/ 10.5 ‘’

Yarn, needles and gauge
The cowl is worked in two colors- a light one (LC), and a dark one (DC). The pattern comes out the best when the LC yarn is on the top- as the main color.

Yarn weight: fingering 355- 400 m for 100 g. LC- 23 g, DC- 30g.
Gauge for brioche: 21 st and 30 rows= 10 cm/ 4’ in 2 color brioche with 3mm/ US 2.5 circular needles or DPNs.
There is no need to hard block, as I did not for the sample. Simply wash and lay flat to dry.
