This knitting pattern can help you create a beautiful fair isle tunic sweater and knitted kerchief, like the ones pictured here. These patterns are miniaturized versions of “Emma” sweaters I first saw on the Dale Baby Ull site.

The tunic may fit a variety of 14 inch dolls, but is specifically fitted to Helen Kish’s 14” Chrysalis dolls like Lark, Song, Piper, and Wren. The sweater is fully open in back for ease of dressing.

Instructions are included to use the steeking method, or to separate for the sleeves. This pattern is for advanced knitters.

Supplies
* Lightweight fingering yarn--I used “Palette”
or “Stroll” , available from www.knitpicks.com. I also used Dale Baby Ull originally, but the slightly heavier weight leads to a thicker and less realistic finished product.

  • Knitting Needles sized 000 and 0 (1.5 & 2 mm)
  • 5-6 sets size 4/0 snaps and matching thread for closure
  • crochet hook for button loops

Gauge
* With size 0 needles in stockinette stitch, 20 stitches & 26-27 rows in a 2 x 2 inch (5.1 cm) square.
