The Freyr Sweater is a seamless Top-down raglan. The sweater is initially worked back and forth, shaping the back neck and increasing towards the front neck before joining in the round. The cables are cabled on every knit row while working flat. Once the yoke is joined in the round, they are cabled on every second row. there are video tutorials for how to work the cables without a cable needle.
The neckline is worked later, and you can choose between a regular crew neck length, a mock neck, or a longer turtleneck.
There are instructions for a tapered body where you do decreases on either side of the cable panel running down the sides of the body. Alternatively, another option is to work the underarm stitches as cables without decreases for a straight and more boxy shape. The pattern includes two cuff options: a straight cuff or a slightly cinched cuff.

The pattern comes in 10 sizes and has been professionally graded and tech edited. The pattern includes video tutorials. The recommended ease is between 0-16 cm depending on your preference.

You will need:
Measuring Tape, Cable needle (optional), Darning needle, Scissors, ‘Try it on tubing’ or waste yarn, 8 stitch markers, including a unique beginning of round stitch marker ,Circular Knitting needles to get gauge and a smaller one (1-1.5mm smaller) for the neckline and potentially sleeve ribbing if you want the cinched in cuff option.

The Freyr sweater can be worked using different yarn weights. You may knit it up using fingering, sport or DK weight yarn held single or even lace weight yarn held double to achieve the same 21-st gauge. row gauge for samples was 29 rows for 10 cm / 4”. Using a thinner yarn will result in a more airy and drapey garment than if you use a thicker weight yarn to achieve the 21-st gauge. This makes the Freyr sweater an ideal stash-busting garment. All you have to do is swatch the yarn you have enough meterage of to make sure you get the 21-st gauge and like the fabric you’re getting.

For all yarn types you will need approx. 1015 (1095, 1205, 1290, 1395) (1490, 1575, 1690, 1755, 1875) m / 1110 (1195, 1320, 1410, 1530) (1630, 1720, 1845, 1920, 2050) yds of yarn to work the sweater with the straight body, the mock neck and the straight cuff. If working another version, please keep in mind that the yarn requirements may change. This includes a 10% buffer for swatching. The summer Tee version requires only 70% of the yarn requirement if knit to the recommended length with a crew neck option.

Please note that if you want to hold two strands of lace weight yarn together, you will need this meterage/yardage for each strand. For example, if you need 1015 m / 1110 yds of yarn for your size and want to knit with a lace weight yarn held double, you will need 2030 m / 2220 yds of lace weight yarn.
