Do you remember exchanging friendship bracelets, braided from your favorite colors of embroidery floss, with friends from school and summer camp? I remember wearing them everywhere and never--ever--taking the stacks of bracelets off, even to jump in the pool. I wanted to capture the feeling of those friendship bracelet stacks for this cardigan, using the Latvian Braid technique often reserved for mittens and handwarmers. These braids highlight the cuffs, hem and collar of this cardigan. Take it a step further by exchanging minis or bits of yarn with dear friends and create some customized stacks for your own sweater!

Sizes
To fit bust sizes: 34-36 (38-40, 42-44, 46-48)(50-52, 54-56, 58-60, 62-64)“ / 86.5–91.5 (96.5–101.5, 106.5–112, 117–122) (127–132, 137–142, 147.5–152.5, 157.5–162.5) cm

Finished Measurements
Actual Bust (Buttoned): 42½ (47, 51¼, 55¾) (58½, 63, 67¼, 71¾)“ / 108 (119.5, 130, 141.5) (148.5, 160, 171, 182) cm
A schematic is included in the book.

Yardage
1515 (1635, 1730, 1805)(1925, 2020, 2130, 2235) yards / 1385 (1495, 1582, 1650, 1760, 1847, 1948, 2044) meters of fingering weight yarn.

Any fingering weight yarn where you are able to get appropriate gauge is a great stand-in for this sweater (yes, even smoothly spun yarns, though they may have more drape in the finished piece). Above all, swatching is key and a fun way to play with braid and base color combinations.

I have suggested some alternative yarns in the book:
Finullgarn - Norway
Shetland Spindrift - UK
Natural Shetland Fingering - USA
