These simple but beautiful socks offer a range of fit options and modifications to fit any foot--work them two at a time in the round on Magic Loop for identical twins, or one at a time and savor every stitch. Featuring faux-cable ribbing, arch shaping and Miriam Felton’s Pocket Heel.

Sizes
A sizing table is provided in the book, along with a guide for matching your size to the sizes provided. For the best fit, you will base your sizing on two measurements: your above-the-ankle circumference (where socks often sag) and foot length.

Women’s S / M / L / XL / XXL
Men’s XS / S / M / L / XL
To fit Foot Length: 8.5” (9, 9.5, 10, 10.5) or longer with adjustment
To fit Foot Width: Narrow 8” (20.5 cm), Average 9.5” (24 cm), Wide 12.25” (31 cm).

Yardage
Yardage is provided within the sizing table for 9 different length/width combinations, but varies between 195 yards / 178 meters (Women’s S/Men’s XS Narrow width) to 390 yards / 357 meters (Women’s 2XL/Men’s XL Wide width).

If substituting yarn, look for light sport weight or heavier fingering weight yarns that allow you to get the tight gauge from the pattern. If you are a knitter who pulls yarns very tight or has a tendency to break woolen-spun strands, substitute a thicker, fingering weight or handspun wool or plied yarn of your choice to get a nice, tight fabric.

I have suggested a few alternative yarns in the pages of the book:
Julie Asselin Nomade - Canada
Tukuwool Fingering - Finland
Blacker Yarns Mohair Blends 4-ply - UK
