Techniques:
Long tail cast-on, increases, decreases, italian bind-off, german short rows, kitchener stitch bind-off.
A video tutorial is provided for each technique.
Materials:
Circular needles/double pointed needles, stitch markers, locking stitch markers, spare cords/leftover yarn, tapestry needle, scissors.
Construction Method:
The Fuxia Hoody Sweater is a relaxed, drop-shoulder sweater, knitted from top to bottom.
The following steps outline how the Drop-Shoulder design will be constructed:
Cast on for the full width of the shoulders, marking the placement of the back neck.
Knit straight for the depth of the armhole and put the stitches on hold. The upper back is now complete.
Pick up stitches for the front shoulders, along each side of the back neck, and shape each side of the front neck separately, before joining at the bottom.
Because this is a drop-shoulder sweater, there is no shaping at the armhole edges. Knit straight until the armhole depth is reached.
Taking the upper back stitches off hold, join the front and back body and knit in the round until the sweater reaches the required length.
Pick up the sleeve stitches around the armholes and knit them to the required length, incorporating sleeve shaping.
Pick up and knit the hood.
